It's Friday! Eldritch Moon Prereleases are happening now. Go play. Come back between rounds and read this. We have news, prices (including EMN) and deck tech form the first Standard events with EMN legal in the format. So click now - on MTGO and the article.
Here is a funny analogy my friend came up with: Lands? Lands are like friends: if they don't show up, you get sad. If there are plenty, you get annoyed, but if your opponent starts to mess with them, you get outrageous!
I haven't played a ton of Standard the last couple months, but that doesn't mean I haven't been brewing and thinking and theorizing. With Eldritch Moon getting ready to hit the bits and bytes of MTGO, here are a couple brews I've been tinkering with.
Join AJ and Paul as they peel back the covers of Eldritch Moon, both the prerelease and programming thereof, and look at some lotuses, both up for grabs and placed in a special tribute. All this and more!
Modern is the newest constructed format. Modern was created by Wizards of the Coast in the Spring of 2011 as a response to the increasing popularity of the Legacy format, which although popular proved difficult to access due to the high price of staple cards. Modern allows cards from the 8th Edition core set and all expansions printed afterwards.
Legacy decks may consist of cards from all Magic card sets, any edition of the core set, and all special sets, supplements, and promotional printings released by Wizards of the Coast.
Cards from expansions and special sets (like From the Vault, Commander, Duel Decks, etc) are legal in the Legacy format on the date of release of the expansion or special set.
